General Meeting: The Carrington Event, Locally and Globally

In late August and early September of 1859, a massive solar storm caused dramatic and poorly understood effects across the earth.  Hear some of the local and worldwide accounts of this event and learn about its implications for the present day.

Please note that, beginning February 2017, the BHS will hold our general meetings at Pohick Regional Library, from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. on the last Sunday of the month (whenever possible).  As usual, all are welcome!
