Archaeologist Patrick O’Neill will speak about Arlington’s oldest house, built by John Ball in the mid-18th century and preserved through many owners until its donation to the Arlington Historical Society.

Annette Tison and Lisa Friedrich Becker recount the history of the Sydenstricker community (for which Sydenstricker Road is named), including the historic Methodist church and the schoolhouse, both preserved.

Ann Shields shares her research on the WWII-era camps for German prisoners of war at Fort Meade, Fairfax, and Fort Hunt, within the context of the national POW-internment program.

William Connery speaks on the post-Civil-War career of John S. Mosby: supporting Ulysses S. Grant’s presidency, serving as U.S. consul to Hong Kong, and mentoring George S. Patton.

Jerry Wolf, a veteran of World War II, will speak about his experiences.  As a B-17 turret gunner, he was shot down near Berlin and held as a POW.

Glenn Curtis, a native of Burke since 1930 and a descendant of Burke’s prominent Marshall family, will share his memories of growing up and his experiences as a firefighter.
